Temple and Family History Lessons Lesson 5 Adding people from the Person Page In our previous lesson we introduced ‘The Person Page’ in Family Search, and we looked at some of the factual information displayed on The Person Page.  We also showed how to review the status of Temple Ordinances for the person on the Person Page and how to request that ordinances be performed for that person.  In this lesson we will describe how to add names to the Family Search tree from the Person Page.   Figure 1.  Adding Names through the Person Page Figure 1 is a screenshot of the ‘Family Members’ section of my mother’s Person Page.  In this figure I have identified five links that can be used to add names from this page. The circled links are numbered 1 through 4 and the fifth link is just numbered, “5”.   Link No. 1 is used to add a spouse to the database.  This could be a first spouse or an additional spouse of the person whose Person Page you are working on.  If it is an additional spouse, when it

Temple and Family History Lesson 4 The Person Page   In lesson 3 we learned how to look at the several views of the Family Tree, or Pedigree Chart available in Family Search; the Landscape, Portrait, Fan Chart, and Descendancy views.   We saw that each view has information associated with it that can help us in directing our research and guiding our Temple Name Submission efforts. In this lesson we will look at the page that contains the most information pertaining to an ancestor, the Person Page.   We will discuss the ‘Details’ screen giving vital information for the person, and the ‘Ordinances’ screen where temple ordinances can be requested. In all of the views discussed in Lesson 3 names of ancestors are displayed in one form or another.   In any of these presentations, if you click (left mouse click) on a name the same dialog box will open.   This dialog box is shown in Figure 1 for a name presented and clicked on in the Descendancy tree.   Temple and Family History Lessons Lesson 3 The Family Tree   Welcome to Lesson 3 on this “Introduction to Family Search” lesson blog.   In the last lesson we explained how to set up a personal Family Search account and log into that account.   In this lesson we will look at one of the first things to do once you are signed in, the Family Tree or pedigree chart with you in the first position.   We will show you how to connect yourself to the Family Search World Tree, and then how to use the four available views of the tree with each of their options. The Family Search web site opens with a page that is unique to each user.   This opening page is created from your past activity on the website, and your current calling in the Temple and Family History world, if you have one.   It may also include references to new “Hints” regarding your ancestors or discoveries posted by others about shared ancestors.   There may also be notices of messages to you from other users who have see
